I built a Joomla component made for making portfolios/galleries quick and easy. The reason why I designed this component is because a while back we had a client that really liked the Lightbox style image gallery. After going through several different pre-made components not many of them seem to either be a user friendly or what we were looking for also a lot of them didn't even work. So with all the problems we had gone though using different components i think I had a better understanding of how I was going to build this thing.
When we design for most clients we like to sell them on the idea of they can edit their website with very little html knowledge by using a CMS (content management system) like Joomla. With that in mind I wanted to create something that would keep the user out of the structure of the portfolio/gallery.
